Lake Gogebic is Snowmobile Heaven!!!
The Gogebic area features hundreds of miles of connecting trails that wind through beautiful forests and friendly towns. Trails vary in length and difficulty to challenge the expert as well as the novice. And, with an average of 200 inches of snow (for the past 10 years), your path will always be paved with a thick blanket of white.
Along with excellent riding conditions, the western UP offers unbeatable scenery: winding forest trails, scenic overlooks, railroad grades, bridges, hills, lakes, cedar swamps, and logging roads – you can ride for days and not see the same scenery twice.
Gogebic Lodge is just one of the many area businesses that welcome snowmobilers with open arms. Everything from rentals and sales to supplies and service can be found within an easy drive from the lodge. Many restaurants and bars along the trails allow you to ride right up to the door.

Largest Ice Fishing Derby on Lake Gogebic – March 1, 2014 Click Here for details
Each year, towards the end of February/early March, Gogebic Lodge hosts its annual ice fishing derby, where anglers from all over the area and beyond compete to see who can hook the largest fish of each species (walleye, northern, perch, and whitefish). Win or lose, it’s always a great day on the ice, after which the competitors can come in and warm up with a buffet dinner.
